Personal pronouns in Turkish
| singular (Tekil) | plural (Çoğul) |
Ben – I | Biz – we |
Sen – you | Siz – you (plural) |
O – he, she, it | Onlar – they |
Turkish has no grammatical gender category (masculine, feminine, or neuter). This means that all nouns in the third person singular (he / she / it) are referred to by a single pronoun — O.
Examples:
O bir öğretmen. – He (she) is a teacher.
O hasta. – He (she) is sick.
O mutlu. – He (she) is happy.
O çocuk. – He (she) is a child.
From context it is usually clear whether the person being referred to is male or female.

Pronouns are often omitted in speech, because the verb ending already indicates the person:
(Ben) gidiyorum. → Gidiyorum. (I am going.)
