  • kuyumcu — the most commonly used word, literally “jeweler” or “jewelry shop.”

  • yüzük — a general word for “ring,” but in a marriage context alyans (wedding ring) or nişan yüzüğü (engagement ring) are used.
  • bilezik and bileklik we have already discussed: the first is a rigid, jewelry bracelet, the second can refer to any type of bracelet.
  • kolye and gerdanlık are both sometimes translated as “necklace,” but gerdanlık usually refers to a large, decorative, festive necklace.
  • halhal — an oriental ornament, an anklet (bracelet worn around the ankle).
